Users who meet the access requirements can enable IP Info in their preferences. Once enabled, the IP Info popup will be displayed next to temporary accounts and legacy IP addresses. IP information will also be displayed on the Contributions page.

Once enabled, the “Show IP” button will be displayed next to temporary accounts.

checkuser-temporary-accounts-onboarding-dialog-temp-accounts-step-content (talk) (Translate) Any time a user publishes an edit on this wiki without logging into a registered account, a [https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Special:MyLanguage/Help:Temporary_accounts temporary account] will be created. This account will automatically be given a username. A cookie will be set in the browser when the account is created. This username will be used to attribute all subsequent edits, even if the temporary user's IP address changes. With a temporary account, the IP address can only be accessed by trusted community members.
