Sīla, śīla

 is established character, tendency, spine, morality through repeated actions, practice. The Five Morality or Precepts (no killing, no stealing, no sexual misconduct, no lying, no intoxicant) are the basic moralities or precepts observed by all Buddhist. (cf.
